Townsville North Queensland is home to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority & the Australian Institute of Marine Science. 

Townsville Skindiving Club is a non-profit recreation and sporting club whose primary aim is dedicated to furthering the interests, enjoyment, appreciation and respected use of the marine environment for its members.

In pursuing this objective, the club may make representations and submissions on behalf of its members to various authorities, statutory or other relevant organisations as the occasion arises.
