Note that club meetings are now being held at the Great Northern Hotel on the corner of Flinders and Blackwood Sts in the city, 7.30 the first Tuesday of each month. Tony Humphries who has put in as the Secretary over the last couple of years has resigned due to job commitments. We would have to thank Tony for his efforts particularly in putting the newsletter together over that time and the fantastic photos that have accompanied the stories . Sorry to see you go. Fees.Membership fees are due and both TSC and AUF fees can be paid online.TSC $40, AUF$55.Alan Banister can advise the TSC details, the AUF can be done via their website. Our last meeting was not well attended and the AGM and election of office bearers has been put off until the September meeting. Contact Tony Morrison if you would like to help out in some manner. New thoughts on how we go about things are always appreciated - maybe you could run for President, put the newsletter together, whatever. Aussie Titles.TSC together with Mackay Down Under Club have agreed to host this year’s Australian Underwater Titles which are to be held from the 9th -14th December at Cape Gloucester Eco Resort just south of Bowen. A working group has started to put together an action plan for the titles and the draft invitation, rules and scoresheet are currently being circulated to all state spearfishing chairs and will be made public as soon as details are finalised. The resort is set right on the beachfront and divers will be transported to the reefs Faith, Hope and Charity each day in small boats provided by MDUSC members. These events where all the competitors are staying together are a lot of fun and I would urge you to attend if you can. Presentation Night. The club recently held its presentation night at the Great Northern Hotel. Several members soldiered on late into the night and said they had a good time.
