Freediving and Spearfishing is a challenging sport.The Townsville Skin-diving Club has been established since 1982. Over this period of time Townsville has hosted some of Queensland and Australia's best divers.It's hard work,consistency and a little luck that land's you a club record. Being a member of the Club entitles you to claim both state and national records. The Club's current records list can be downloaded from the home page main menu. Biggest Fish winners for 2008/9 season. Biggest Pelagic & Spanish Mackerel - Tony Humphreys - 28kg. Coral trout, excluding Bluespot - Tony Humpreys 5.5kg. Snapper -Red Emperor - Mick De Roy -10.28kg. Barramundi -Mick de Rooy - 10kg. Tusk fish - Clint Stoneham 9.96kg. Crayfish - Clint Stoneham - 2.94kg Most meritorious - Matt Ludbrooke - 13kg Black Marlin Crayfish - Shane Hanran - 3.3kg. Largest Pelagic Fish - Chris Robertson - 25.6kg Spanish Mackerel. Most Meritorious Fish entries - Dave Welch - 9.41kg Green Jobfish. |
